Report

After a long break from our succesful league campaign we finally got to play some football when we travelled over to catherine de barnes to play in the annual hampton fc tournament.
With the sun shining(yes the sun was shining!!) we all arrived nice and early and eager to see the lads playing some football.
We were drawn in group b along side blossomfield,wychall,coldlands,ccc and redditch rovers who are all decent sides so we knew we would need a good start.
Our 1st game was against blossomfield who we will be playing in the league next season and had a certain familiar face in there side,  it was a bit of a midfield battle which the lads stood up to and won with a well taken goal by nathan.
the 2nd game we were up against wychall and in this game the lads showed why they are such a good team when they went one nil down and fought back to win the game 3-1 with goals from carter and jake his 2nd was easily the best goal of the day.
with us top of the table and looking comfortable the lads decided to put us through the mire by drawing 0-0 in the following 3 games, a quick tally up of points and we realised we were through to the semi final where we would play castle bromwich.
The semi final itself was a battle to the end with every player from both sides giving there all and one goal was going to decide it, and unfortunatley for us it was castle bromwich who got it with a well taken goal by there forward, the lads tried and tried in the final few minutes to get the goal we deserved pushing forward at every opportunity in numbers but it wasnt to be and the final whistle blew on our tournament and castle bromwich were into the final, i must mention a special moment in the game when Tom pulled off a save that was something special there manager, assistant and the referee all commented to me after the game how good it was.
In the other semi final our friends from santiago colts beat wychall 1-0 to set up a final against castle bromwich.
the final itself was a cagey affair and again a single goal from castle bromwich won it, well done to castle bromwich for winning the tournament.
lads i know losing in the semi final hurt you but this is what its all about getting to the latter stages of competitions and testing yourself against other teams, myself and alex were very pleased with the performances of all players, well done boys.

Man Of The Match-:
this week we chose NATHAN PERRY who was a threat in every game he played and topped it off with a well taken goal, well done Nathan fully deserved pal.
